Hey hey!

So there is something I would like to see written. I think I originally gave this request to a friend of mine, but they got sidetracked or something. Anyways, here is your challenge:

Two RvB characters of your choice hop into the warthog, ready to go off on a secret mission (or not-so-secret mission, or road trip, or whatever).

Suddenly, Caboose decides to jump in with them and tag along, throwing a wrench in all their plans.

Your not-so-secret mission is to write about the ensuing trip. Anything goes, but here's the catch: for whatever reason, your characters CANNOT get rid of Caboose. Well, they could try... but Caboose always finds his way back.

The challenge, called Sidetracked, is also posted over here on RVBfics.com: www.rvbfics.com/modules/challe…

You may either respond directly to the post on RVBfics, or you can post in on some other site (deviantART, fanfiction.net, your RT journal, etc) and put the link in the comments section of this journal.

Deadline? September 30th, 11:59 PM Mountain Time. Yes, I know that's strangely specific, but at least that deals with the issue of time zones. The link to your fic must be posted before this time! If you forget to finish the last chapter before the deadline, as long as you gave me a link before the deadline, I will judge everything that was finished before the deadline... I will not accept the last chapter if it's posted late (I will look at the timestamp on each chapter). If you started posting chapters online in August, but didn't give me a link until October, I will not accept anything. As far as I'm concerned, if the link wasn't there by the deadline, the fic doesn't even exist.
Prize? I will post the winning entry in my Rooster Teeth and my deviantART journal (or at least, as best as I can... if your entry has strange formatting that does not agree with RT, it may look strange when posted). In addition, I will have another journal entry dedicated to how awesome you are and why they should check out your work, whether your work is here, on Rooster Teeth, on YouTube, whatever you wish.
Word Limit? Hey man, anything goes. You can write a novel if you wish, but remember everything must be done by the deadline.
Judging? Will depend on creativity, entertainment value, adherence to canon, and ease of reading.
Creativity is self explanatory.
Entertainment value is also pretty straightforward, but keep in mind that this does not imply that your work must be comedy; if you write an amazing piece of tragedy that moves me to tears for the characters involved, that's still very entertaining. I welcome work from all genres.
Adherence to canon: ie, do the characters behave in a way that they might in the actual series?
Ease of reading: Is all the grammar and spelling mostly correct? Is it formatted in a way that doesn't hurt my eyes? If I can't understand it, or if I'm hurting my brain trying to understand what is happening, I will throw it out. (note: You can use some large flowery words if you wish, that won't hurt ease of reading, as long as the work in question is still readable).
Anything else? I don't much care for OC's. I won't stop you from writing about OC's, but you had better be an amazing writer if you do, or else you may suffer in the entertainment department. I can't help personal bias. Also, if you send in an incomplete work, it may or may not hurt you, depending on how good the story is.
